Company intelligence / Profile preview
Investment Saskatchewan Inc. is a provincial Crown corporation and a subsidiary of the Crown Investments Corporation (CIC) of Saskatchewan, based in Regina. Established in 2003, the company was mandated to manage the province's commercial investment portfolio and provide venture capital to Saskatchewan-based enterprises to foster economic diversification. It has been a significant institutional investor in the life sciences and biotechnology sectors, supporting companies in ag-biotech, diagnostics, and medical technology, as well as specialized funds like the Western Life Sciences Venture Fund. While its active new investment phase was largely transitioned to other government bodies around 2009, it continues to exist as a legal entity managing its remaining investment assets.
