Investor AB

Investor AB is a Swedish publicly traded investment and holding company founded by the Wallenberg family in 1916. The company owns significant stakes in listed Nordic and international companies and also controls a portfolio of wholly owned subsidiaries through Patricia Industries. Although Investor AB has meaningful healthcare exposure through portfolio companies such as Mölnlycke, Laborie, and Advanced Instruments, it is not itself a biotechnology, pharmaceutical, or healthcare operating company. Its business centers on long-term active ownership, capital allocation, board participation, and value creation across industrial, financial, technology, and selected healthcare assets. For a biotech analyst, Investor AB is best understood as a strategic owner and allocator of capital rather than a drug developer.
