iTriage

iTriage was a U.S. digital health company that developed a consumer mobile and web application designed to help users understand symptoms, explore possible conditions, find appropriate sites of care, and locate physicians and facilities. Founded in 2008 by emergency medicine physicians Peter Hudson and Wayne Guerra, the company focused on healthcare navigation rather than drug development. Its core product used a proprietary "Symptom-to-Provider" pathway and also included provider search, appointment-related functionality, medication information, and in some implementations emergency room wait-time and check-in features. iTriage gained broad consumer adoption and became one of the early large-scale mobile health apps in the United States. The company was acquired by Aetna in 2011 and operated within Aetna's consumer health technology efforts thereafter.
