The company's core platform, Labskin, provided a laboratory-grown human skin equivalent used for testing the impact of cosmetic and pharmaceutical products on the skin microbiome without animal testing. Following its rebranding to DeepVerge, the company expanded into environmental diagnostics, utilizing AI-driven sensors for real-time detection of pathogens like SARS-CoV-2 in wastewater. Despite initial commercial traction, the company faced significant financial difficulties and entered into a restructuring process, eventually leading to the cessation of its primary operations.
