Ives Drugs

Ives Laboratories was a prominent American pharmaceutical company that operated as a subsidiary of American Home Products (AHP). The company specialized in the development and commercialization of therapies for cardiovascular and peripheral vascular diseases. Its most recognizable product was Isordil (isosorbide dinitrate), a widely prescribed vasodilator used to prevent and treat angina pectoris. Ives also marketed Cyclospasmol for vascular disorders and the tricyclic antidepressant Surmontil. In the late 1980s, American Home Products consolidated its pharmaceutical holdings, merging Ives Laboratories into the Wyeth-Ayerst division. Following the 2009 acquisition of Wyeth by Pfizer, the remaining Ives product lines were integrated into Pfizer's global portfolio.
