Ivo de Carneri Foundation

The Ivo de Carneri Foundation is a non-profit organization dedicated to combating parasitic and infectious diseases in developing countries, with a primary focus on Pemba Island, Zanzibar. Established in 1994, the foundation operates the Public Health Laboratory - Ivo de Carneri (PHL-IdC), which is recognized as a WHO Collaborating Centre for the control of neglected tropical diseases. The foundation conducts operational research, provides essential diagnostic services, and implements large-scale public health interventions targeting schistosomiasis and soil-transmitted helminthiasis.
