Jamaa Birth Village

Jamaa Birth Village is a Black-led maternal health organization and nonprofit midwifery and doula care provider based in Ferguson, Missouri. The organization delivers culturally grounded prenatal and postpartum midwifery care, doula support, childbirth and nutrition education, lactation support, mental health support, and related family services for the St. Louis region. It also operates as a cultural heritage center focused on preserving and teaching African Indigenous and Black diasporic midwifery traditions through a museum, library and research institute, and traditional midwifery training. Jamaa appears to be a healthcare services organization rather than a biotech, pharma, or therapeutic product developer, and no drug pipeline or molecular R&D programs were identified. The group is also developing a St. Louis Birth Center and Postpartum Retreat Haven planned to expand birthing and postpartum capacity.
