Jamaica Cancer Care and Research Institute

Jamaica Cancer Care and Research Institute (JACCRI) is a Jamaica-based nonprofit cancer care and research organization focused on improving access to quality cancer care for Jamaicans. Its activities span cancer epidemiology and genomics research, prevention and early-detection initiatives, clinical and palliative-care education, and health-system capacity building. The organization was formed through collaboration among Hope Institute Hospital, Surgipath and Cytology Laboratory, the University of the West Indies (Mona), and the Harvard/Massachusetts General Hospital Center on Genomics, Vulnerable Populations, and Health Disparities. JACCRI also supports regional programs such as H3ECaribbean to increase Caribbean representation in global genomics and health research. Rather than operating as a drug-development biotech, it functions as a mission-driven healthcare and research institute serving cancer patients, clinicians, and researchers.
