Jan van Breemen Institute

The Jan van Breemen Institute was a renowned Dutch center of expertise for rheumatology and rehabilitation medicine based in Amsterdam. Founded in 1905 by Dr. Jan van Breemen, a pioneer in the field, the institute provided integrated medical care, physical therapy, and occupational therapy for patients with complex musculoskeletal and inflammatory conditions. It was highly regarded for its multidisciplinary approach and its significant contributions to clinical research, particularly in the evaluation of biological therapies for rheumatic diseases. In 2011, the institute merged with the Centrum Revalidatie Amsterdam to form Reade, which continues to operate as a leading center for rehabilitation and rheumatology in the Netherlands.
