Janus Biotherapeutics is a biotechnology company focused on the development of novel small molecule inhibitors of Toll-like receptors (TLRs) for the treatment of autoimmune diseases. The company's proprietary platform targets TLR 7, 8, and 9, which are key drivers of the innate immune response and are implicated in the pathogenesis of systemic lupus erythematosus (SLE) and Sjogren's syndrome. In 2013, Janus entered into a significant strategic collaboration with Roche and Genentech, which included an exclusive option for Roche to acquire the company's TLR program.
