Japan Established Medicine

Japan Established Medicines Corporation (JEMC) was a specialized pharmaceutical company formed as a joint venture between Mitsubishi Tanabe Pharma Corporation and Daiichi Sankyo in 2016. The entity was dedicated to the commercialization and stable supply of established medicines, encompassing off-patent branded drugs and generic products within the Japanese healthcare system. JEMC sought to optimize the lifecycle management of mature products by utilizing the manufacturing and sales expertise of its parent organizations. In April 2019, the joint venture was dissolved, and its business operations were fully integrated into Mitsubishi Tanabe Pharma Corporation. This move was intended to enhance operational efficiency and respond more effectively to the changing regulatory environment for off-patent medications in Japan.
