Japan Foundation of Medical Isotope Development

The Japan Foundation of Medical Isotope Development (J-MID) is a non-profit organization established to ensure a stable domestic supply of medical radioisotopes in Japan. The foundation primarily focuses on the production and purification of alpha-emitting isotopes, specifically Actinium-225 and Astatine-211, which are essential for Targeted Alpha Therapy (TAT). J-MID serves as a bridge between academic research institutions, such as RIKEN and Osaka University, and the pharmaceutical industry to accelerate the clinical application of radiopharmaceuticals. By providing high-quality isotopes and supporting regulatory and manufacturing standards, the foundation aims to advance innovative cancer treatments.
