Japan Vaccine

Japan Vaccine was a Japan-based vaccine joint venture formed by Daiichi Sankyo and GlaxoSmithKline to conduct the clinical development, marketing, and sales of prophylactic vaccines in Japan. Established in April 2012 and commencing business on July 2, 2012, the company focused primarily on pediatric and infectious disease vaccines for the Japanese market. Its portfolio included marketed vaccines and at least one development-stage combination vaccine program, VN-0102, for measles, mumps, and rubella. In November 2018, Daiichi Sankyo and GSK announced that they would dissolve the venture, and from April 1, 2019 its commercial activities were transferred back to the parent companies while legal wind-down procedures continued.
