Company intelligence / Profile preview
Jardine Fleming was a premier Hong Kong-based investment bank and asset management firm established in 1970 as a joint venture between the British merchant bank Robert Fleming & Co. and the diversified conglomerate Jardine Matheson. The firm was a pioneer in the development of capital markets across the Asia-Pacific region, offering services in stockbroking, corporate finance, and investment management. At its height, it was recognized as one of the largest and most influential financial institutions in Asia, managing significant institutional and retail funds. In 2000, the company was acquired by Chase Manhattan Bank (which subsequently merged with J.P. Morgan) and its operations were fully integrated into what is now JPMorgan Chase.
