Jasper Wireless, now a division of Cisco known as Cisco Jasper, is a global leader in Internet of Things (IoT) connectivity management. The company provides a cloud-based SaaS platform, the Jasper Control Center, which enables enterprises to launch, manage, and monetize IoT services for connected devices. In the healthcare and life sciences sectors, Jasper’s technology is used to provide reliable cellular connectivity for medical devices, including remote patient monitoring systems, connected inhalers, and implantable devices. This infrastructure allows for real-time data transmission from patients to providers, supporting mHealth initiatives and improving clinical trial data collection. Cisco acquired Jasper Wireless in 2016 for approximately $1.4 billion to serve as the foundation for its IoT business unit.
