Jiangsu MingSight–Relin Pharmaceutical was established as a joint venture between Shenzhen Relin Medicine and MingSight Pharmaceuticals to develop and commercialize MS‑553—a selective oral PKCβ inhibitor—for diabetic eye disease in China. The company has also advanced MS‑553 into clinical trials for hematologic cancers such as CLL/SLL. As of April 2025, the company reinitiated a phase I trial in diabetic macular edema after previous suspensions due to protocol revisions. A phase I/II trial in CLL/NHL was terminated due to major protocol changes. Proof-of-concept data have been reported for both oncology and ophthalmology indications.
