Jiangsu Sopo Group is a major Chinese state-owned chemical enterprise and a global leader in the production of acetic acid and its derivatives. Headquartered in Zhenjiang, the company operates one of the world's largest methanol carbonylation plants for acetic acid production, supplying essential raw materials for the pharmaceutical, textile, and packaging sectors. Its product portfolio includes ethyl acetate, acetic anhydride, and azodicarbonamide (ADC) foaming agents, as well as calcium hypochlorite used for industrial disinfection. While the company does not engage in direct drug development, it is a critical upstream supplier of chemical intermediates used in the synthesis of various active pharmaceutical ingredients (APIs). The group's primary operational entity, Jiangsu Sopo Chemical Co., Ltd., is publicly traded on the Shanghai Stock Exchange.
