Company intelligence / Profile preview
John Bean Technologies, commonly known as JBT, was a publicly traded industrial technology company that designed, manufactured, and serviced equipment, systems, and software primarily for the food and beverage processing industry and, historically, airport ground support and gate equipment markets. The company operated through JBT FoodTech and JBT AeroTech and generated revenue from equipment sales, aftermarket parts, service, and support. Although it had some exposure to healthcare and emerging-markets automation applications, it was not a biotech, pharma, or healthcare company. Following its combination with Marel, the company changed its corporate name to JBT Marel Corporation effective January 2, 2025. As a result, John Bean Technologies survives mainly as a former legal and historical company name rather than the current operating brand of the public company.
