Jones Pharmaceuticals, formerly known as Jones Medical Industries, was a specialty pharmaceutical company focused on the development and commercialization of branded prescription products. The company established a strong market presence in the endocrinology sector, particularly in thyroid health, with its flagship product Levoxyl. Jones Pharmaceuticals also marketed treatments for other conditions, including infectious diseases and critical care. In 2000, the company was acquired by King Pharmaceuticals for approximately $3.4 billion, which was subsequently acquired by Pfizer in 2011.
