Julich Chiral Solutions

Jülich Chiral Solutions was a specialized biotechnology company focused on biocatalysis and the production of chiral pharmaceutical intermediates. Originally founded as Jülich Fine Chemicals (JFC) in 1999, the company developed an extensive library of recombinant enzymes, including alcohol dehydrogenases, reductases, and lipases, to facilitate the synthesis of complex small molecule drugs. The company provided screening services, process development, and large-scale enzyme supply to the global pharmaceutical industry. After being acquired by Codexis in 2005 and subsequently by Evonik in 2012, its technologies and Jülich-based manufacturing site were integrated into Evonik's Health Care business line.
