Kalenika is an Australian biotechnology company specializing in the development of RNA-based therapeutics for hard-to-treat cancers. The company utilizes a proprietary nanotechnology platform, specifically "star" polymers, to deliver small interfering RNA (siRNA) directly to tumor cells while protecting the payload from degradation. Their lead programs focus on silencing the TUBB3 gene, which is associated with aggressive tumor growth and resistance to chemotherapy in indications such as neuroblastoma and lung cancer. By combining advanced polymer chemistry with RNA interference, Kalenika aims to provide highly targeted treatments for pediatric and adult malignancies that currently have poor prognoses.
