Katana Biopharma is a Canadian biotechnology company focused on developing targeted cancer therapies using its proprietary Peptide-Drug Conjugate (PDC) platform. The technology utilizes a peptide ligand to target the Luteinizing Hormone-Releasing Hormone (LHRH) receptor, which is overexpressed in several solid tumors, including ovarian, breast, and prostate cancers. By conjugating a cytotoxic payload to this peptide, Katana aims to deliver chemotherapy directly to tumor cells, minimizing off-target effects and systemic toxicity. The company's lead asset, VAL-121, was designed for the treatment of ovarian cancer and other LHRH-positive malignancies.
