Kaufman Bros. L.P. was a New York-based boutique investment bank and brokerage firm that specialized in the technology, media, telecommunications (TMT), and healthcare sectors. Founded in 1995, the firm was notable for being one of the largest minority-owned investment banks in the United States. It provided a range of services including equity research, investment banking, and institutional sales and trading, with a significant focus on emerging growth companies in the life sciences and biotechnology industries. The firm was well-known for hosting its annual Investor Conference, which served as a key venue for biotech and tech companies to present to institutional investors. Kaufman Bros. ceased operations around 2012 following financial difficulties and regulatory challenges.
