Kazakh Scientific Center of Dermatology and Infectious Diseases

Kazakh Scientific Center of Dermatology and Infectious Diseases is a government-owned clinical, scientific, and public health institution under the Ministry of Health of Kazakhstan. The center was created in 2018 through the merger of the national AIDS prevention and control center with the skin and venereological research institute, and it provides prevention, diagnosis, treatment, epidemiologic monitoring, postgraduate education, and research services. Its core focus areas include HIV/AIDS, viral hepatitis, sexually transmitted infections, and dermatologic diseases, with both inpatient and consultative-diagnostic activities. The organization also conducts national and international research projects, including collaborations with UNAIDS, UNFPA, USAID, CDC, UNDP, and the Global Fund. It functions more like a specialized state medical and research center than a venture-backed biotech or pharmaceutical developer.
