Company intelligence / Profile preview
Keata Pharma was a pharmaceutical contract manufacturing organization (CMO) based in Sydney, Nova Scotia, Canada. As a subsidiary of PharmEng International, the company operated a state-of-the-art 46,400-square-foot facility specializing in the production and packaging of solid and liquid dosage forms, including generic pharmaceuticals and over-the-counter products. In addition to its manufacturing services, Keata collaborated with the National Research Council of Canada to develop natural products derived from daffodils for the treatment of Alzheimer's disease. The facility opened in 2007 but faced significant financial challenges, leading to its closure in 2009 and subsequent acquisition by Stirling Pharma in 2010.
