Kentuckiana Cancer Institute

Kentuckiana Cancer Institute (KCI) was a specialized oncology and hematology medical practice and clinical research center located in Louisville, Kentucky. Founded by Dr. Renato V. La Rocca, the institute was a leading community-based site for Phase I through Phase IV clinical trials, collaborating with major pharmaceutical companies to evaluate novel cancer therapies. KCI provided comprehensive patient care, including chemotherapy, immunotherapy, and advanced diagnostic services for a wide range of malignancies such as glioblastoma and lung cancer. In January 2012, the institute merged with Norton Cancer Institute, a part of Norton Healthcare, to consolidate oncology resources and enhance research capabilities in the region. Following the merger, its clinical operations were integrated into the Norton Healthcare system, while its research legacy is maintained through the Kentuckiana Cancer Research Foundation (KCRF). KCI was instrumental in bringing cutting-edge clinical research to the local patient population in the Kentuckiana area.
