Kerathin

Kerathin is a biotechnology company that pioneered the use of keratin-based biomaterials for medical and regenerative applications. Founded to commercialize research from Wake Forest University, the company developed a platform for purifying human-derived keratin proteins into functional scaffolds, hydrogels, and coatings. These products are designed to promote wound closure, reduce pain, and manage inflammation in conditions such as chronic ulcers, severe burns, and radiation-induced skin damage. Kerathin's technology eventually formed the basis for KeraNetics, which continues to advance the clinical development of these keratin-based therapies.
