Kilimanjaro Clinical Research Institute

Kilimanjaro Clinical Research Institute (KCRI) is an academic center of excellence for health research located in Moshi, Tanzania. Affiliated with the Kilimanjaro Christian Medical University College, the institute serves as a critical hub for clinical trials in East Africa, particularly for infectious diseases such as tuberculosis, malaria, and HIV/AIDS. KCRI provides comprehensive clinical trial services, including Phase I through IV studies, supported by state-of-the-art biotechnology and diagnostic laboratories. The institute collaborates extensively with global partners like the EDCTP and various international universities to evaluate new vaccines, diagnostics, and treatments. Beyond clinical trials, KCRI is dedicated to research capacity building and training the next generation of African scientists. Its work is instrumental in addressing the unique healthcare challenges of sub-Saharan Africa through evidence-based medical research.
