NephroSant (formerly KIT Bio) is a biotechnology company specializing in non-invasive diagnostic solutions for kidney disease and transplantation. Spun out of the University of California, San Francisco (UCSF), the company leverages a proprietary multi-biomarker platform to monitor renal health through simple urine samples. Their lead product, the Qisant test, utilizes biomarkers such as cell-free DNA and CXCL10 to detect kidney transplant rejection with high sensitivity, often before clinical symptoms appear. NephroSant is also expanding its technology to address chronic kidney disease, IgA nephropathy, and kidney stones, aiming to replace invasive biopsies with precise, quantitative molecular diagnostics.
