Kitasato Daiichi Sankyo Vaccine was a Japanese pharmaceutical company specializing in the development, manufacture, and sale of human vaccines. Established in 2011 as a joint venture between Daiichi Sankyo and The Kitasato Institute, the company combined industrial manufacturing expertise with academic research heritage. Its portfolio included essential public health vaccines such as those for influenza, measles-rubella (MR), and the DTaP-IPV combination. The company operated a major production facility in Kitamoto, Saitama, focusing on both traditional egg-based and advanced cell-culture technologies. In 2019, the entity was fully integrated into Daiichi Sankyo and merged with other units to form Daiichi Sankyo Biotech. This transition consolidated the group's vaccine and biologics manufacturing capabilities into a single specialized subsidiary.
