Klothonova is a biotechnology joint venture established in 2025 by Avant Technologies and Austrianova to develop innovative cell-based therapies for age-related diseases and longevity. The company leverages Austrianova's proprietary Cell-in-a-Box microencapsulation technology to deliver genetically modified human cells that continuously produce and secrete the "longevity protein" alpha-Klotho. By restoring youthful levels of Klotho, the company aims to treat conditions such as Alzheimer's disease, chronic kidney disease, and cardiovascular issues. Klothonova is currently in the pre-clinical stage, focusing on GMP-grade cell line development and preparing for IND-enabling studies.
