Kompetenznetz Parkinson

Kompetenznetz Parkinson (KNP) is a German nationwide research network and registered association dedicated to improving the diagnosis and treatment of Parkinson's disease and related syndromes. Founded with support from the German Federal Ministry of Education and Research (BMBF), the organization coordinates clinical trials, maintains a comprehensive patient registry, and operates a centralized biobank. KNP facilitates collaboration between university hospitals, specialized clinics, and research institutes to accelerate the translation of scientific findings into clinical practice. Its activities include the development of treatment guidelines, the execution of multicenter observational studies, and the provision of standardized data for neurodegenerative disease research.
