Austin Pharmaceutical (formerly known as Korea Wales Pharmaceutical) is a South Korean pharmaceutical company that manufactures and distributes prescription (ETC) and over-the-counter (OTC) drugs, as well as health functional foods. Founded originally in 1959 as Wonjin Pharmaceutical, the company was renamed to Korea Wales Pharmaceutical in 2004, and subsequently to Austin Pharmaceutical in 2014. In 2016, the company was acquired by the BioSmart Group, a South Korean conglomerate. Austin Pharmaceutical operates a KGMP-certified manufacturing facility in Ansan, South Korea, and has expanded its business into the OTC market through exclusive distribution partnerships, such as with Samsung Pharmaceutical.
