Overview
Koronis Pharmaceuticals developed antiviral therapeutics using a novel mechanism called Viral Decay Acceleration. Its lead candidate, KP‑1461, was a small molecule targeting HIV by accelerating viral mutation rates to cause collapse of the virus population. Clinical trials included Phase 1 and Phase 2 studies in treatment-experienced HIV patients but were ultimately terminated/discontinued without successful efficacy results. The company also had preclinical programs for hepatitis C and RSV. There is no evidence of ongoing clinical development or commercial products.
