Kryocor

KryoCor was a medical technology company specializing in the development of cryoablation systems for the treatment of cardiac arrhythmias. The company's flagship product, the KryoCor Cardiac Cryoablation System, was designed to treat atrial flutter and atrial fibrillation by using extreme cold to create precise lesions in heart tissue, thereby blocking abnormal electrical pathways. KryoCor achieved a significant milestone by becoming the first company to receive FDA approval for a cryoablation system specifically indicated for atrial flutter. In 2006, the company was acquired by Boston Scientific, which integrated KryoCor's technology into its electrophysiology and cardiac rhythm management business units.
