LAB-InterLink was a pioneer in the field of clinical laboratory automation, specializing in integrated systems for specimen processing and transport. Founded in the early 1990s, the company developed robotic conveyor systems and software designed to streamline workflow, reduce manual errors, and improve turnaround times in high-volume diagnostic laboratories. Its core technology allowed for the seamless connection of disparate diagnostic instruments into a unified, automated track system. The company's solutions were instrumental in the transition toward Total Laboratory Automation (TLA) in major medical centers. LAB-InterLink was acquired by Cerner Corporation in 2003 to integrate physical automation with Cerner's laboratory information systems.
