Company intelligence / Profile preview
LAB Pharmacological Research International was a prominent Canadian contract research organization (CRO) that provided clinical and analytical research services to the global pharmaceutical and biotechnology industries. Founded in 1969 and headquartered in Vaudreuil, Quebec, the company specialized in early-phase clinical trials, including Phase I bioavailability and bioequivalence studies, as well as Phase II-IV clinical trial management. In 1999, the company's clinical operations were acquired by MDS Pharma Services (a division of MDS Inc.), while its preclinical operations remained under the parent company, LAB International Inc. (later renamed Akela Pharma). The Vaudreuil facility served as a major center for clinical pharmacology research in North America for several decades before the company's operations were integrated into larger global CRO networks.
