Labopharm was a specialty pharmaceutical company that utilized proprietary drug delivery technologies to develop improved versions of existing therapeutic compounds. The company's primary platform, Contramid, enabled the controlled release of small molecule drugs, leading to the development of once-daily formulations for pain management and depression. Its most notable products included Ryzolt, a once-daily tramadol formulation, and Oleptro, a once-daily trazodone formulation. Labopharm Europe served as the regional hub for the company's operations in the European market, focusing on regulatory approvals and commercial partnerships. Following financial challenges, Labopharm was acquired by Paladin Labs in 2011, and its assets eventually became part of Endo International.
