Laboratoires Fisons

Fisons was a prominent British pharmaceutical company that specialized in respiratory and allergy treatments. The company achieved global recognition for the development of sodium cromoglicate, marketed as Intal, which became a foundational treatment for the prevention of asthma. In addition to its pharmaceutical division, Fisons held significant interests in scientific instruments and horticulture before narrowing its focus to healthcare in the early 1990s. The company was acquired by Rhone-Poulenc Rorer in 1995 for approximately £1.8 billion. Following subsequent mergers, its product portfolio and research legacy were integrated into Sanofi.
