Laboratorios Zambeletti España was the Spanish subsidiary of the Italian pharmaceutical company Zambeletti S.p.A., which was a prominent player in the mid-20th century European pharmaceutical market. The company was particularly noted for its research and development efforts in the field of analgesics, specifically focusing on kappa-type opioid receptor agonists. In 1984, the Zambeletti group was acquired by SmithKline Beckman, a predecessor of the modern healthcare company GSK. Following the acquisition, Laboratorios Zambeletti's operations and research programs were integrated into the parent company's global structure. Today, the entity is no longer active as an independent brand, with its legacy products and intellectual property managed by GSK.
