Lafrancol

Lafrancol, officially Laboratorio Franco Colombiano Lafrancol S.A.S., is a leading Colombian pharmaceutical manufacturer with a broad commercial portfolio of essential medicines for cardiovascular, metabolic, respiratory, psychiatric, neurological, and allergy-related conditions. The company was acquired by CFR Pharmaceuticals in December 2012—at the time the largest acquisition in CFR’s history—and subsequently became part of Abbott Laboratories through Abbott’s acquisition of CFR. As of early 2022, it remains an active subsidiary under Abbott Labs but has taken down its standalone website. In recent years it has faced regulatory scrutiny for exceeding government-set price caps on several essential medicines in Colombia.
