Laser Industries Ltd. was a pioneering medical technology company based in Israel, best known for its Sharplan line of surgical laser systems. Founded in 1973, the company became a global leader in the development and manufacturing of CO2, Nd:YAG, and holmium lasers for a wide range of surgical applications, including dermatology, gynecology, and ENT. The company played a critical role in transitioning laser technology from experimental use to standard clinical practice. In 1998, Laser Industries was acquired by ESC Medical Systems, which subsequently merged with Coherent Medical Group to form Lumenis, one of the largest medical laser companies in the world. Its legacy technologies continue to be foundational in the field of energy-based surgical solutions.
