LaserSight Technologies

LaserSight Technologies was an ophthalmic medical device company focused on laser vision correction and related surgical instruments for refractive eye surgery. The company developed, manufactured, and marketed excimer laser systems used in PRK and LASIK, most notably the LaserSight LaserScan LSX Excimer Laser System, and also sold keratomes and related ophthalmic products. It operated as a subsidiary of LaserSight Incorporated and was part of that group’s technology segment. LaserSight obtained FDA approvals for its refractive surgery laser platform in the late 1990s and early 2000s. The business is best understood as a historical eye-care device manufacturer rather than a therapeutic biotech or pharma company, and it does not appear to be an active standalone operating company today.
