Laurus Master Fund, Ltd. was a New York-based hedge fund managed by Laurus Capital Management, specializing in structured finance and Private Investment in Public Equity (PIPE) transactions. The fund was a significant financier for small-cap and micro-cap companies, with a heavy focus on the biotechnology, life sciences, and healthcare sectors during the early to mid-2000s. At its peak, the fund managed approximately $1.8 billion in assets and was known for providing capital to emerging companies through complex convertible debt instruments. However, following the 2008 financial crisis and significant redemption requests, the fund faced liquidity issues and entered official liquidation in the Cayman Islands in 2009.
