LDS Test and Measurement

LDS Test and Measurement was a global leader in vibration testing and data acquisition, formerly a subsidiary of SPX Corporation. The company played a pivotal role in the life sciences sector through its LDS Life Sciences division, which developed the Ponemah software platform—the industry standard for physiological data analysis in preclinical drug safety and pharmacology studies. In 2006, the life sciences business was sold to Transoma Medical (now part of Harvard Bioscience/DSI), while the core vibration testing operations were acquired by Spectris plc in 2008. Integrated into Brüel & Kjær (now HBK), the LDS brand remains a premier provider of electrodynamic shakers used for structural testing of medical devices and aerospace components. Its legacy in the pharmaceutical industry continues through the widespread use of its former data acquisition technologies in regulatory-compliant research.
