Company intelligence / Profile preview
The Learning Health Community is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization dedicated to realizing the vision of a national and global Learning Health System (LHS). Founded in 2012 following a multi-stakeholder summit, the organization mobilizes diverse stakeholders—including patients, clinicians, researchers, and technology vendors—to collaboratively share data and knowledge to improve health outcomes. It is anchored in a set of consensus 'LHS Core Values' and operates through self-organizing initiatives such as the LHS Tech Forum and the Essential Standards to Enable Learning (ESTEL) project. The community aims to shorten the gap between knowledge generation and clinical application by fostering a socio-technical infrastructure for continuous learning. It serves as a neutral convener for the healthcare industry to develop standards, policies, and governance frameworks for federated data sharing.
