LEBSC (Laboratory of Environmental and Biological Structural Chemistry) is an innovative Italian biotechnology and chemical research company that operates as a spin-off from the University of Bologna. The company specializes in the research, development, and synthesis of biomimetic materials, biomaterials, and micro- and nano-structured materials for applications in dentistry, orthopedics, cosmetics, and environmental remediation. LEBSC is best known for co-developing the patented Microrepair technology—zinc-substituted-carbonate-hydroxyapatite crystals—which is the active ingredient in the commercially successful Biorepair toothpaste line designed to repair tooth enamel.
