Company intelligence / Profile preview
Lederle Standard Products was the dedicated generic pharmaceutical division of Lederle Laboratories, a major subsidiary of American Cyanamid. The division focused on the commercialization of high-quality generic versions of essential medicines, particularly in the fields of anti-infectives and oncology. Operating primarily out of the historic Pearl River, New York facility, it played a significant role in the growth of the U.S. generic drug market during the late 20th century. In 1994, American Cyanamid was acquired by American Home Products (later renamed Wyeth) in a multi-billion dollar transaction. Following subsequent industry consolidation, the assets and legacy of Lederle Standard Products were eventually integrated into Pfizer.
