Leitner Pharmaceuticals was a specialty pharmaceutical company based in Tampa, Florida, that focused on the development and commercialization of topical pain management therapies. The company's primary product was a lidocaine 5% patch, which is used to treat pain associated with post-herpetic neuralgia, a complication of shingles. In May 2017, Leitner Pharmaceuticals was acquired by Zydus Pharmaceuticals (USA) Inc., a subsidiary of the global pharmaceutical company Zydus Lifesciences (formerly Zydus Cadila). This acquisition was a strategic move by Zydus to expand its specialty product portfolio and strengthen its presence in the US pain management market. Following the acquisition, Leitner's operations and products were integrated into the Zydus specialty business unit.
