Overview
Levicept has developed LEVI‑04, a first-in-class biologic targeting the neurotrophin pathway for chronic pain and osteoarthritis. In a randomized, double-blind Phase II trial with over 500 patients suffering from knee osteoarthritis, LEVI‑04 met its primary endpoint by significantly reducing pain compared to placebo across all doses. The drug also improved function and joint stiffness without increasing the risk of rapid joint deterioration—a key safety concern with previous anti-neurotrophin therapies. The therapy was well tolerated and showed no increase in rapidly progressive osteoarthritis or structural joint damage.
